Joan Marsh is a practicing Florida artist and the recipient of various awards and honors. She has created art her entire life. Her art is in corporate and personal collections. Her two Hillsborough County Teacher Incentive Grants, before she retired, afforded the opportunity to experience Plein Air painting and the mountains which changed the direction of her art. When I first started painting en Plein Air I would crave the outdoors. Waking up before the alarm clock with bug spay, easel, canvas, paints and sunscreen heading out before the unbearable heat of Florida.
. She has exhibited in *juried, group and solo shows. Some of the exhibitions included: *Art Uptown Gallery in Sarasota, Octagon Gallery in Clearwater, Carrolwood Village Community Garden Plein Air Paint Out, Pinellas County City Hall, Kahwa Coffee Shop Tampa Solo Show, Bamboozle Cafe HAEA show, Pinellas Park Art Society (2nd best of show), Bamboozle Tea Lounge Solo Show, Tampa Museum of Art HAEA, Energy Mutual Insurance Solo Show, Excellence 100 at Carrolwood Cultural Center, Lynn Merhige Gallery solo show, Williams Park Art Mart, *Suntan Art Society St. Petersburg Beach, Mirror Lake Library en Plein Air exhibited St. Petersburg City Hall, *Center Place Fine Art and Civic Center, *Beaux Art Gallery in Riverview, Great Art and Frame West Chase, Safety Harbor Public Library, Charles J. Fendig Library Tampa, Tampa Regional Artists Tampa, and University of South Florida in Tampa.
Joan Marsh now resides in St. Petersburg, Florida and is originally from the Buffalo, New York area. She had taught elementary art in the largest district in Florida for over 16 years and received her degree from the University of South Florida. Now retired from teaching elementary art she is a full time practicing artist.
